Clutch tuning is absolutely needed with this tune to let it perform properly. That is why I offer this ECU tune with a clutch kit to allow the engine to run at the RPM where peak hp is after the tune has been applied to the ECU. The stock clutching is designed to run at 6100-6400 RPM, which is way too low for this tune. If you want full potential out of this tune you NEED to re-clutch. The clutch kits we offer are designed around the power profile of the tuned ECU. Our clutching gets rid of the horrible factory clunk / jerk at take off that the 900 ranger is known for. Take off is very smooth yet very responsive. I have had many people comment how smooth the machine drives after our clutching and ECU tune. Drivability at slow speeds is greatly improved! The most popular clutch kit we sell is our Elite Shift kit, which has solid non-adjustable fixed clutch weights. The other kit option is the BlackMax adjustable weight type clutch kit, which allows you to custom tune your RPM profile. If you are running larger than 29" tires you will need to purchase the Mudder Secondary Spring which will squeeze the drive belt harder, preventing belt slippage.
